cheers for then link Bill - unfortunatley i've tried all of that

My pc is an IBM netvista - i've tried to locate the correct drivers for the network card from the ibm web site - but i'm not sure its correctly configured

however i used to use the network port to talk to the cable modem ( I now use a USB conection so this is freed up for the ps2)

any suggestions how i can check the network card is ok

---------------------------------------------------------------

finally - when i get the pc to search for new hardware it finds a pci device - but win 2000 can never work out what it is so it never gets installed

well i went out and got a new network card - plugged it in and no joy

so its not the pc

so it must be the bloody ps2 adapter

there is a red cross throught the network icon (bottom right)

does this go when you turn on your ps2 ??

anyone ???

You don't want a crossover cable, you want a normal one (I suspect)

A crossover cable is to link one *hub* to another.
