Sounds like maybe the sensor wiring is faulty/cracked?

When you say 'Blanks out', do you mean that it physically goes off or the display goes to ' - - - '??

If its the latter, then you have ACT problems!! (like over 70°!!)

Yes mate it physically goes off just the green backlight stays on. But its hard to believe as my acts are usually around 30c another thing is if i switch of the ignition back off and switch it back on its okay then but will have a look tomorrow and see at what temp the act guage blanks out thanks

I would check the probe.

Long shot, but maybe the end is bare and when you make boost it pushes the bare end onto a metal surface that shorts it out?

Is the Temp probe in a Plastic Elbow? Or is it under a Hose?

That's what I meant C, the boost moving/pushing the probe and causing the break.
