Yes I suppose it depends on how 'one-off' the stuff you are getting done really is and then asking yourself, "is it really worth the wait & hassle"? Only you can decide Matey

Well the guys that are doing it are highly recomended and i have never heard a bad thing said about them but what they are doing i would have thought could be done in half the time they are just drilling some parts which they had to make spade drills to do etc... it's all a bit over my head but it's taking to long

I call them constantly to get updates and all they have said is a couple of weeks and thats all i get or they are waiting on the engineering place to do there bit I just don't know what else to do the way things are going theres no chance of seeing the part back until after the new year It wouldn't be so bad if i had another car but this is my only transport

7 months is without question pretty excessive it has to be said mate, and especially without transport I must admit I'd be getting very close to giving up on them I think! Have you tried the old "if it's not completed by so & so date then I'm afraid I'm gonna have to cancel my order with you as I need my car mobile again for then!!" Might just hurry them along a bit if they think they're gonna lose your custom

I'm a bit buggered really as the standard part wouldn't last five minutes on the car and with the work they have done so far ,it won't work until they have finished it, i'm in a catch 22 situation and i think they know i'm stuffed and can't go anywhere else.

Is the place where you're getting the work done far away from where you live? It might be better to go and see them face to face (they may feel a bit more pressured then rather than you just being a voice at the other end of the phone) and maybe ask to see the part to see what kinda progress they've made with it! Then when the part is infront of you, you can directly question them about it saying "right then so what else is there left to do and when will you be doing it?"

None!! And that is good the money side did bother me as i was worried that the cost was going up the more time spent working on it but i have been asured it isn't.
My point is i have no experience of getting things like this done i just needed to know if this is the norm, like i said this is my only car and i need it done.
Like i said this is not a post to more about a company more a post to see if am waiting to long for what is being done.
