anyone have a link for the site where you can check some basic details for free? need to check what colour a car is listed as.

Hpi charge everyone, its just that corporate rates are cheaper than retail ones.

IMO it worth biteing the bullett, paying the fee and doing one online at HPi, there are Companies who offer a cheaper service but their info is not always correct as people from this site have found out. At least HPi is a recognised register by ALL finance / Lease / Insurance Companies.

very true,i used to use a cheaper company and they got quite a few cars wrong.i checked my rs500 on it and it came up as a colour change 2 days after it was bought,but a real hpi check says it has always been black-you get what you pay for
