Default AP brakes - how good?

Think i'm going to get a set of 4 pots using 330mm discs for my RS after chrimbo, but i've never actually been in a car with APs before. Just how good are they? I'm going from standard RS 2000 stuff by the way.

I went from Std brakes (that I thought were very good) to AP 4 pots and 324mm discs on my old 3dr Cossie and couldn't beleive how bad the std stuff really was in comparison

aps are alright.
alright to get me to 2nd overall on otterburn last month,96 competetive miles and never faded once,in some places we were braking from flat in 7th (ffd) to 1st with no fade what so ever.forget that "lowspec" shit and get ap's.

if you carnt afford them.wait a few more weeks until you can,i know some people will defend the cheaper items but lets face it,willwood dont supply the works teams neither do lowspec.

I used to have Wilwood, I now have AP

the Wilwood's were the best in their price range by a mile, and a LOT better than standard, but AP are just in a different league altogether

i would say so, especially for road use. certainly not worth getting a loan for. if you can afford them, then they're nice to have, but not necessary.

I disagree 330/4pots would not be overbraking the car

you seen the start of hotshots where the f15's land on the carrier, and all the pilots bash their heads as they stop??? just like this Thats what AP's are like, and make sure you get decent pads, pagid are a quality make for really good feel and awsome power, but fairly expensive, greenstuff are middling for price vs performance , and to be honest the ferodos I have are a bit crap, so go for the best pad you can, and don't be tempted to go for racing pads if you use your car on the street more than the track, as you will never get them to a stable operating temp for max performance
