Default RS Focus stolen at gun point on my drive

TAKEN FROM ANOTHER FORUM IT WASNT ME THAT THIS HAPPENED TO

Last night i arrived home and as i reversed to my drive 4 masked men were behind my car i tried to lock the doors but it was to late. The drivers door and pasenger door were ripped open and and a gun was pointing at me. they said to get out and the man next to me put a knigfe to my throat. I got out and the 4 masked men got in and drove off at high speed out of the close. In the car io lost my lap top with personal photos on also my wallet was on the dashboard. This experiance was exremly frightening and i warn all R S Focus drivers to take great care as tihs is the third robbery in the northwest. I live in the east of manchester and this was obviosly very organised.

Your anti-hijack wouldn't be much good, if your keys were in the ignition and the engine still running.

Depends which one as some are tripped by the door opening and when the scum drive off it then kills the car giving you a chance to get to safety.

Heard of this happening to a few people. I'm sure something similar happened to one of the people on ScoobyNet

can't belived this happened for a 'normal' (no offence, their still worth more than mine ) car.

its wrong if it happened to a Ł100k motor, but more understandable...

glad the guy was ok.

At the time I bought my Fiesta ST from Springfields in Knottingley they had an RS Focus in which was going to someone who had just had his RS Focus hi-jacked in this way (don't think there were guns involved though )

I always worry to be honest.... there aren't any other ST's in my area and the car does get a lot of attention.... when I am on my way home at night the doors are always locked and I am particularly wary when I get home looking for lurkers...... I know the ST isn't has high profile as the RS Focus/Cosworth but there will always a risk that someone might want it off me!

BlackJax.....

Get out the car let them drive away... once they are a safe distance away the car will cut out (at low speed) alarm will sound and wont start again, in the meantime, you have legged it and phoned the old bill...

that and a tracking device SHOULD get your car back within half an hour.... HOPEFULLY...

ALso works if someone nicks the keys, disarm alarm open the door start car drive off..., sometime down the road the car will cut out alarm will sound etc etc...

there are ways around it but I'll keep those to myself ...

we had one of our vans nicked a few months ago, we followed it to where it was via the trackers and the computers and stuff and told the old bill
they said as long as we got the van back they wern't intreseted basicly and that was that

so yes, as long as they are getting paid for it they'll do the job

this carjacking though is a bit more sinister, there must have been a lot of planning invloved in it and a buyer waiting for it at the other end, i wouldn't have thought they would have gone to that much trouble juts for a cheeky joy ride in it

i always drove around the block a few times, mainly to get the turbo's cooled down on the way home and also to make sure no one was following me, plus the car is tracked and belled so if it ever did go walkies i'd be able to find it again

perhaps now is a good time to get together and find a company that will fit a tracker for a discount for a group purchase, if it's tracked at least you nkow you will get it back, even if might not be in the same condition

glad the guy is ok though, the only thing you get for being a hero nowadays is dead

A mate of mine had his Focus RS taken from him outside his house at knifepoint, this was North Manchester.
He said he rang the tracker company before he rang the police and he found out after they had disarmed the tracker somehow, the car was never found.

I posted up a good few months back about a neighbour of my mates who had some shady blokes checking out his Focus RS but that post went to pot because the shady blokes had scouse accents, shame really

to be honest peeps, if they were waiting for him as he pulled onto his driveway, having the hijack thing going on wouldn't really have been that good would it?
they would have just come back for him

when i had my 3 door pinched i was on the phone to plod while they were laughing at me
they pushed it down the road and left it, but when plod turned out (3 hours and 35 minutes later) they said they had been hunting these "ARMED ROBBERS" for the past 5 hours
this was about 11 years ago though so hopefully their reponse times are better now

Wonderful isn't it does anyone remember the story about a guy who had trapped some robbers (or similar) and the police said they were too busy to deal with it, he then rang back and said he had shot an intruder and they turned up straight away - something along the lines of 'we thought someone had been shot' "I thought there was no-one available to attend"

It's so worrying that you can't enjoy your car and a drive out without it being overshaddowed with worry that you could be car jacked, totally takes the fun out of it - disgusting how things have become

yup, i rememebr that story alright

it was along the lines of "we haven't got anyone to deal with it for the next 7 hours" or something silly

coppers should be coppering out on the streets, not hiding in the bushes with hair dryers or sitting at the pasty waggon drinking cups of tea and getting fat

for all the good the good ones do, the few that are seen to be doing sod all are the ones who get into the papers

Unfortunatly nothing new over here, many cars have been jacked with an infant/child still in the back seat. One good thing is we are allowed to use deadly physical force to prevent a carjacking... i.e. run the bastard over or 2 slugs center-mass (my preference).

The even more frightening thing is the people who break into your house and threatening you for the keys
