The price of a good doner car and all the time involved moving everything from yours into that. (So unless you can do it yourself it could be quite expensive)

I couldnt manage it myself, so suppose get it sorted and sell it on. Got to sort the S2 out as well head gasket has gone plus a few other bits and bats.

Once the welding is done on the frst would it be worth wax oiling?

Waxoil is preventative, so If you want to keep the car make sure it is welded well and all excess rust is removed, then hammerite the welded area, then waxoil-underseal the whole underside / arches etc. / use the clear waxoil inside doors / trailgate and all other areas.

Anyone that has an old car that is subjected to the elements should make sure their car is well protected!
