tried to buy a thermostat 2day at halfords, the bloke at the counter gave me one for my d reg s2 1987, it was too big so took it back and tried to get a stat for the later rs, same part number listed are they the same for 88spec and 90spec ?

 

No difference at all. Probably Halfords being goons again. Did you look up for the CVH XR3i?

 

no i couldnt some1 had nicked the ford section from the little book that is by the parts for looking stuff up!

They say the Puma thermostat is a better option as it opens at 82 degrees rather than the Escort 88
