Default Richard Burns Death :(

In the midst of a city's outpouring of grief over George Best, there was a smaller but, within the confines of international motor sport, equally emotional pause for reflection in Belfast on Friday night, when it was announced that Richard Burns had succumbed to the effects of a brain tumour at the age of 34.
Burns was the last British world rally champion and those at the Champions of Motor Sport dinner in Belfast did not need reminding that the Englishman had won 10 major championship rallies on his way to achieving international recognition in such a highly competitive sport.

It is so sad that anyone can die that young, my thoughts go out to his family and close friends. I had the pleasure of meeting Richard testing approx 5 years ago and he was a top guy with pleanty of time for anyone. Being from south Wales I have not missed a single rally GB for 9 years and some of my mates (die hard rally fans that go to other events of the rally) met him several times and had nothing but positive things to say about him.

We should all remember that Richard was only starting to reach the peak of his abilities when he found out about his tumor, surley he would still be providing good competition to Loeb today.

R.I.P Richard Burns

Very sad.
I was never a huge fan of Richard Burns but he made a great WRC character and always seemed to give 100%. I'll always forget some of his incar footage especially an off where he really over cooked a corner - such was his commitment.
He was the same age as me which is a very sobering thought. Thats jsut too young. Don't waste a single moment of your lives and try to do the right thing.
