any1 no where i can get a starter motor heat shield (mayb chrome) for my d reg erst? my wont start when hot! [img][/img]

why not wrap the downpipe, turbo in heatwrap

think i will, the actual sheild is missing, will the wrap be enough? ive only just bought the car, the helmet b4 shoved this silver crap in between the starter n down pipe!

Lag the down pipe and get a heat blanket for the starter, thats what i did and its been fine for years

check the starter cables too, if they are burnt up (ive had a few where black was tourched from bein fitted dodgly)
if they are damaged then heat affects them dramatically too

had same problem as you, fitted another neg starter cable over top of old 1 and never had problem again

Wraping the turbo is not a good idea. It will get too hot for comfort. You can wrap the manifold, downpipe, and the section of the exhaust that rund under the engine. Heat is a big issue with this car. "Hey, let's give it some more power and shrink the radiator!"

Wrap the starter if you want to wrap anything. Might be worth wrapping the downpipe as well but leave the turbo alone
