Is a partly buggered laptop worth anything?
THIS IS NOT A FOR SALE POST LOL 
Just remembered i have my old laptop doing nothing so i thought it may sell on Ebay? It about 2.5 years old and when it was new it was a well spec'd good quality unit! It a HP Pavilion zt1192 with 15" screen and is running Pentium 4 mobile processor and Windows XP and has a 30gb hard drive. Problem with it is the wiring between the screen and the base is fugged although the screen itself is ok
If you plug it into a seperate monitor it works fine.
Question is do i just bin it or is it worth a punt on Ebay

Deffo the ribbon as i have it here somewhere 
I investigated and the end of the ribbon where it goes into the inverter is fugged.

defo worth putting on there - my dad seems to buy a new laptop every other week on ebay just to rebuild them, so they do go!

you can break them for spares and get quite a bit for them off ebay!
i bought 2 compaqs off ebay both fuck'd, one looked like a truck had run over it ( not a lie ) , make a good complete working one from the 2, sold all the crap off seperatly i had left over, for half of what i payed out, and was lsft with a laptop that was worth £250/300 owed me £70
this is a pic of the screen from the run over one think i got £30 for it???
