I had my series 2 chipped and set-up @ PTS in luton, the power run after the set-up came back with 209bhp @ 4800rpm
The mods are as follows:
PTS 185 chip
Stage one turbo (boggo intercooler)
Pipercross induction kit
Magnex exhaust
Boost set @ 15psi
At the time i thought nothing of it, other than good power, since then i've had a ribbing off my mates saying that's impossible with these mods, and espec with such low boost.
Any thoughts? Or could that be correct?

i used to use pts years ago when they was in st albans, they USED to employ good mechanics, i had my h reg tuned up to 210 bhp there .but i went to the new luton dept, and i must say things have got alot worse , they sell great products there , but i have since changed tuners , i just dont trust pts anymore

There is always much debate over RR figures.
What you have power wise is specific to your car on a certain rolling road on a given day.
To compair to another car run up on another set of rollers on a different day isnt even worth getting into.
Enjoy your car, and see how it compairs in performance to other equaly specd cars.
**Edited to add!
I recall when buying my S2 with the same mods (except a goose exhaust) the power figues from PTS were 168bhp on 16psi with a Stage 1 Turbo.
Realisticaly Id have thought your car would be producing somewhere in the regions of that sort of power.
As above though , If you have what you have on paper then who's to argue with it!

My mate reckons PTS's rollers are way out, they did a good job with the car though, and i'm happy with it, but i'd be dubious of having it power run there again.
With them mods I would be expecting 170-180 bhp!!! Now I have heard of RR reading 10% out, so at the most I would be thinking thats about 190 maybe, and I wouldn't think that was to un realistic

Any easy way of telling if it is a zetec botom end?
My mate Dave skimmed 50 thou off the head of his Fizzy (Yamaha FSIE/ask
your dad) and they told him it was too powerful (due to wheel spin)

GUYS GUYS I shall say ziss only Wurnce.
All RR's Have some wild and wacky ways of calculating your CRANKSHAFT power/most of them bear VERY LITTLE RESEMLANCE TO REALITY!
The ONLY way to do it (unless someone has managed to rewrite the laws of physics recently) is to take the WHEEL HORSE POWER
(remember thats what their rollers acurate or not are measuring) and DEVIDE by .85
Therefore to obtain 209 bhp at the crank you would have to produce at the wheels, 177.7 (devide by .85 = 209) which any scholar of tuning will
tell you belongs in the Beano book of true facts.
Although Both editions of the monthly FORD 'Beano' mags regularly feature cars that 'should be around' or 'must make about' or 'once runin/setup Dave hopes to make 3 gozillion H.P.'
Strange then very few of the articals feature performance figures and STRANGER still when these cars are timed an awful lot of them develop missfire's clutch slip/gearbox problems
'so we weren't able to actually measure
how fast it was................' zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!
