Default cvh temp problems

Hello all

iv recentley had an engine fitted into my s2 rst, the engine seems
to run fine, but what ive noticed is when starting from cold the car warms up, the tempreature needal goes all the way upto just below red and then drops and and stays around the n. the fan is on direct @ the moment
also when it goes near the red, if i put the heaters on full, it drops down to around half and the heaters are blowing cold air

my previous engine used to stay around the halfway mark on the temp gauge, and i used to get hot air from the heaters

any help will be appreciated

thanks

I had the same problem a couple of weeks ago, also with a new engine. Changed the stat, temp sender and and fan switch and nothing changed.
The problem was an air lock in the end, just left the engin ticking over with the cap off the header tank then when it got up to temp just started squeasing the coolent hoses and eventually a load of air bubbled out of the header tank. This seemed to solve the problem!
