Default Battery Chargers / Conditioners

Anyone use one on their car?

The S2 has been off the road since end of September and it does just sit in the garage under its car cover, I give it a start every week or so but last couple times battery has been dead (expected really) Anyway, was told to get a battery conditioner, something that puts a constant small current through the battery and turns off when the battery is full, when the battery drops down it kicks back in and tops it up

Sounds like a good idea to me, went in my local motor factors today and saw these new products by a swedish company called ctek ( www.ctek.com ) I can get the 3600 model for £29, apparently they can be left on your car for months at a time, no probs and actually makes your battery life longer

Anyone use one or something like this?

cheers for that, went in halfrauds today but couldn't find any.

TBH, for the price i've seen these ctek's go for and what they can do they sound really good. For the extra £10 compared to that halfords "plug" i think I'll get the one with the features

i personally wouldnt have one, if my car was off the road for a while i would have removed the battery and kept it indoors.

im not a fan charing the battery constanly.

if the battery is disconnected and in good health there is no reason why it should loose charge.

my ford one doesnt.

and its been out of the car for nearly 2 yrs
