Default flywheel balanced to the crank???? wtf????

with regards to other days thread.... i did the clutch and replaced flywheel with a skimmed one..... and car is still really badly vibrating in low gears... however if you put foot on clutch and dip it, the vibrating stops, it gets really bad the higher up the rev range you go in each gear..... im being told 100 different things, someone mentioned that the flywheel might need balancing to the crank??? anybody shed any light on the subject? really cant be arsed to have to take crank out though

if the vibration stops when you dip the clutch, that to me, would suggest that the spinner plate is out of balance and everything else is ok

if your going to take out the clutch u might as well change it all but esp. the release bearing
might as well do the pilot bearing to for what it costs that can cause grief

have noticed now that when the car is in neutral while running at 70mph it stops vibrating considerably, and also when the clutch is dipped???? surely that must be a flywheel problem? but i can still feel vibrating when going round corners as if there is something catching

Off at a tangent I know, but might be worth checking exhaust clearances, condition of the prop doughnut etc..

wouldn't say it was the flywheel as this spins all the time regardless if the clutch is pressed so you would get vibrations all the time.

I had this prob a while back did you split the prop from the doughnut? if so I'll bet it's that. as they never go back the same shape.
