Default Speedo accuracy vs Road Angel

Road Angel reads 148mph and Speedo 160+mph and the difference is the same at low speeds

The Road angel is not registered yet

I know that GPS is real time but is the Road Angel controallable in the sense of up-dating

Mike

Oh this is Hyperthetical

GPS is correct whatever the speed - clocks aren't. I use my RoadAngel as a speedo when I'm on a journey.

As Mr S1 - at that speed, ur speedo will be way fast.

I've calibrated my speedo. When i'm doing a genuine 70mph, the speedo reads 68mph. After 120mph, the speedo is dead on.

Unfortunetly, when my speedo shows 20, i am really doing 30.

It is a brand new car Rick i better not need to calibrate anything other then the damm Road Angel,

I have been told that you can tell or maybe able to tell the Road Angel how often to pick up the GPS signal which is always there it is more a case of telling it to update more often

mike

Oh mine is consistently out across the range

All cars factory speedo's over read.

The faster you go the more inaccurate they are. Road Angel will not be 100% right but it isn't going to be nearly as far out as your speedo.

My speedo at Brunters buggered off the clock and was getting ready to do a second lap. Don't think I was doing 10mph though

Mind you I could claim I did 10mph twice so therefore I was only doing 20mph. Reckon the magistrate would buy it?

Update the road angel, the higher up the speeds the more accurate it is as it has time to catch up with itself

Speedo could be out BUT dont discount this .......

GPS CAN missread in signal weak areas FACT !!!

GPS speed is an average of readings and at high speed, the averaging is more significant
mathmatically so any miss reads during signal loss will have a greater error.
Remember, these devices ONLY need to be accurate for 70mph and below
and there ARE different grades of radio receivers depending on price.

With 18" wheels on, my speedo is exactly the same as the Road Angel throughout the range.

With 17" wheels on RA reads 3mph more than speedo.

I don't belive these GPS speeds from Sat Navs etc. My Tom Tom is always 3mph under what my Stack says, and my Stack is 100% spot on when you give it the correct wheel settings.
