certainly needs insurance if its not already taxed as you have to have road fund license at the same time dont you?

If the car's already taxed you only need to take the tax disc along with the mot to the dvla where they'll make all the neccesary changes.

Oh & the log book.

 

No insurance is required - as its nothing to do with them.

Current MOT and tax disc (or tax disc that has expired within the previous 6 months) is all thats required.

Oh and the fee's of course

Thats only for when you are taking a plate OFF a vehicle, to put a plate ON a vehicle it has to have current Tax or be taxed at the same time as putting the plate on.

If you are saying yours is already taxed then it'll be fine
