Default Arrggh!!! what is it wi squeaking brakes!!!!!!

what causes brakes to squeak/squeal?

put new pads (just cheapy motoquip) in me RS2k, then they started squeaking really bad whenever you brake,

i've got a 20mile drive to work in stop/start traffic its slowly driving me insane!!

been out and bought another set of pads, thought i'd replace discs as well this time to see if that sorts it, (motoquip discs and ferrodo pads)

guess what its still doing it!!!!!

at first it would start after about 5min of driving or as soon as you stamp on the peddle hard,

with these new brakes you mite make it 10min without it happening now

could it be the calipers causing it?

please help?

the squeak is from the pads rubbing in the carriers
clean them up and refit with a little smidgen of grease on them and it should solve the problem

try braking very hard a few times (give them a good run) and see if they still do it.

mine squeak when the car gets driven like miss daisy, but then they are track spec jobbies.

If more copper slip / GRease doenst solve it. Try sanding the edge of the pads to a 45 degree angle rather than the 90 they are from new.

Only do a few mms though!

*ucking ignore that advice mate thats just bloody dangerous!!!!

Grease the contact face of the disk liberally with goose fat and the pad face with GT85, it has teflon in and far better than WD40 IMHO

Dont do this you need to bed the brakes in.

Chances are it's your rear brakes are the standard drums?
