Good topic.. i relate most music to history and emotion.
Paul Van Dyke and Rachel McFarlane - Angel for a lover.
Reminds me of a distant friend that mean's a lot to me.
Cyndi Lauper - I drove all night.
Same as above. Different Friend.
John Legend - Ordinary People.
Reminds me of troubled times.
Mike and The mechanics - The living years.
Reminds me of my dads funeral & my 16th Birthday.
Robbie Williams - Hot Fudge.
Reminds me of good times.
Allanah Myles - Black Velvet.
Mixed emotions.....
Chris Issacc and metallica - Nothing else matters.
As Above.. lol
Heart - all i wanna do.
Good memories of another distant friend.

Gadgio - So Many Times.
First heard it over a year and a half ago, and i just thought, what an awesome awesome tune. Had so many good nights dancing to it, with the crowds feeling the same way about it.
Then, a close friend played it at midnight New Years Eve at Sankeys, which just made it even better. In Jan, at the second blackpool piss up, it came on in Syndicate, and to my suprise, Sticker Paul knew it well, so me, Manchester Mike and Sticly had it larger. It was as if whenever i was on a high, this tune would come on.
I then met, at the time, someone who was very special. It was completely random, but we ended up having our first kiss to this tune. Sounds all a bit girly i know, but ive never been blown out of the water by a kiss like that ever. A couple of weeks later, after going to maybe the best show of my life - Standford hall, it came on the way home. I was a passenger, and Sticky was following us in his cossie. My phone rang, and he was shouting like mad to put Radio 1 on.
We turned it on, and started pissing my sides as Sticky was dancing like a loon in Vicky
As some of u know, the last few months have been very trying for me personally. Gadgio always brings all this flooding back, but still manages to put a smile on my face

Nicely written that Rick - very heartfelt
For me, it's "Seasons in the Sun" - bizzarely, it just reminds me of death in general!
Aside from that, Barber's Adagio for Strings still blows me away - so many good memories.

Barbers gives me memories of my first trips to Gatecrasher, where i was simply blown away by the experience, and the music of 98/99

Good times guys

Dont ask me why as songs NEVER have any emotional effect on me at all, but every time I hear Bone Thugs and Harmony- 1st of the month, i get serious shivers down my spine and mega vivid flshbacks
In a good way, and flashbacks arnt even about anything too important, jus go right back to all being 18, driving round in modded Reno5Turbos, having flash clothes and phones, spending money like there was no tomorrow, and NONE of us had jobs
Not legal ones anyhow.
(infact the main memory that comes straight back like im watching a video is 3 reno5turbos all pulling up in a row outside the post office and about 10 of us getting out all blinged up, and going in to cash the jolly G's, the faces on the people in the street was class, esp as it was a pedestrianised zone
)
In a way CampLo- Luchini and Coolie High, and 2pac- To Live n Die in LA and Toss it up, all do the same but to a much lesser extent.
Nothing else does to me, which is wierd as got hell of a lot of important memories (good n bad) but dont relate them to songs in any way

FRANK SINATRA-MY WAY
Played at my Dads Funeral as it sums him up TOTALLY, he had everything done his way as he had time to plan his own funeral...even picked the handles on his Coffin and planned the route to the Church.
BOB MARLEY-IS THIS LOVE
Reminds me of my Honeymoon to Jamacia, it was played EVERYWHERE
GREENDAY-TIME OF YOUR LIFE
Just a very very very good song that i always listen to if i am feeling a little down
MARTHA AND THE MUFFINS-ECHO BEACH
Sums up the 80's a treat and i loooooove the 80's music
FAITHLESS-INSOMNIA
Reminds me of being young, free and single with my mates, having LONG LONG nights and dancing till dawn.............Then not being able to sleep....Strange that
THE JAM-GOING UNDERGROUND
AWESOME some that is timeless and means alot to me and my love of music

memories by elaine page> as my aunt has Budd chiari syndrome, and is pretty much confined to bed aged 54 as opposed to last year playing footy with me kids
take my breath away-after 9 years she still does, my missus, love her

MANY many mnay songs remind me of various parts and times of my life. I am so into music so most things tend to relate back to certain songs...
A lot of the Kiss album tunes from 98/99 remind me of when 3 of us just packed our jobs in and went to Oz in a spur(well as fast as a spur can be when applying for oz visas) of the moment!
REM-Everybody hurts will always remind me of My Dad...he is still here but we are going thru worrying times at the moment
but like i say i can almost relate to any time of my life with a song

Just fired it on
How cool is this song
"She's gone" stirs my soul as does "satisfy my soul"
"We'll share the shelter of my single bed" quality

Prodigy - charlie says,
cant remember the exact year but the whole six weeks holiday was spent sneaking into the outdoor pool in our town, we had no cash and it was a hot summer, we must have gone everyday that year, spent all day there aswell, made some close friendships that year that lasted till leaving school, I sadly havent seen them since, but when I hear charlie says its always the first place/time/people I think of.
Fun Lovin Criminals - scoobie snacks/whole album,
The album that I've probably played the most, which is amazing considering I havent put it on in about 2 years, it got me through some bad shit when my mum and dad split, I had that to cope with and the fact that I was just realising that tossing it off at school was perhaps not a wise plan, as I was sweeping a factory floor 40 hours a week for £60, and due to the tension at home didnt really have anyone to discuss my options with, so this song/album has mixed emotions, they are awesome live and their gigs are the best I've been to and the band I've seen the most, although now I dont listen to them as I associate them with bad times, which is a shame
The Verve - drug dont work,
I have no idea why but this song is one of a very selcet few that genuinely make me shiver and hair stand on end, just seems such an honest and well written song, you can aslo tell its a story from experience and ashcroft is trying to send out a genuine message, awesome.
Pulp - common people,
As a kid I had grand ideas of earning loads of money and buying all the things I wanted and that life would be a breeze, by the time I'd heard this I realised it was all a pipe dream, the lyrics to this make me feel proud to be a common person.
John Lennon - Working class hero,
Reminds me of my dad, 45 years in the gas industry and 26 years retained firefighter, union rep and local councellor, we arent really close and I perhaps only see him a couple of times a year, I'd say he's not really a family sort of bloke so found the whole wife and kids thing a bit hard/restrictive, hence us not being close, although I'm still very proud of him for what he's achieved outside of the family and is where I get my love of cars from.
Could go on forever as music is my life and I associate it with everything I do, I have to listen to music whilst doing anything, on the net, in the bath, in bed, pottering around the house, in the car, everywhere, except fucking work cause they wont let us
