Martin did say he *might* be coaxed back for another go if someone beat the speed....... he also mentioned he might do it blinfolded
Martin actually went one stage further and removed the standard caravan stabiliser (which should in theory be allowed) but didn't want to run the risk of losing the record on a technicality, or bitching.... made braking a tad lairy for Martin
Was a pleasure to actually be there and witness it all, it even had part of my vehicle on it when it did it (my claim to fame )
A Mercedes Benz S600 driven by Eugene Herbert (South Africa) reached a speed of 223.881 km/h (139.113 mph) towing a standard caravan at Hoedspruit Air Force Base, South Africa, on October 24, 2003.
Not sure on that, I know a Viper held the record prior to Martin....and we're talking Guinness World Records, so certain conditions are applied for a legitamate GWR.
Did Norris Evo not do the caravan thing on a jezza video or somethin. Blew the engine too.. Think it was their 188mph evo???
Not too sure tho...................

Good answer Martin (and it's no mean feat!!!)
I reckon the Gumball spec' would've given the AMG a run for it's money......
