saff cossie - which fuse for elec windows?
as title. My handbook says fuse 24? but when i take off fuse box lid there isnt a number 24? the handbook says it should be a 30A fuse?
i found 1 blown fuse but its 40A. If you stand sideways to car at drivers side and there are 2 rows of fuses its the one at the bottom of the left row. what does that do? theres nothing shown on my lid. i think its the wrong lid? should cossie one be see through?
please help because windows were fine yesterday

It maybe that the motor has got stuck (they sometimes do this). What happens is that it gets jammed ON (either up or down) and then this overheats the motor and trips it out. It will then keep tripping out, colling down, tripping out whenever the car is turned on and will give the impression that the window is broken. You can tell if it is this by listening to the door and if you can hear the motor humming (no particular tune
) when you first turn the ignition on, it is stuck. Is a right pain if it sticks down

.if its stuck how do i unstuck it?

antony
i dont have a spare 40A fuse
Chop,
Swap the wires round that send the power to the motor, it will then wind down (but may get stuck down then
).
Clean it as best you can. It may need throwing
.
I thought you said it "should" be 30A anyway

Single 30A on the far right hand side of the fusebox.
Sits on it's own, and I left some spare fuses in the fusebox.
Mine used to do this once in a while as well. Sometimes can be traced to a bad earth on the actual switchgear - centre console, in front of the gear lever is an earth point.
