Then you wont get much "flutter" as you mention because its running the standard management, as mentioned you will with cossie, fiesta turbo efi or another aftermarket system which ditched the fuel metering unit etc

Sorry to butt in, but why do people ditch the std setup & go for efi?

Is it hard to do? worth doing? what bits are required?

I am also thinking of ditching the dv, have been told to fit a cone filter, instead of panel filter, as will make the flutter louder?

Cheers, and sorry for jacking the thread

Block the vac pipe off....

The metering unit muffles the chattering sound so without ditching the MFI set up, it will always be quiet.

im on mfi and my chatter is much louder than any dumpvalve (you can hear it if driving along in a car next to it even on the motor way).
ive got an old school piper cross sponge filter (its bloody huge, about the same size as a size 5 football)
the amount of boost your running also affect the amount of chatter, this is because the turbo will stall harder if your runing more boost, and it is the stalling wich cause the sound.

also, running a fmic should make it louder due to making the turbo less restrictive.
im running a stage 3 turbo, 1.4 bar and a race gate actuator (the charateristics of the actuator also affects turbo stall)

obviousely the metering head is going to restrict it slightly but switching to after market management isnt going to make that much difference

No, it simply WONT work as stated above, you may get minimal chatter but nothing like you do on EFI / Cossie management, and if you do you have a serious air leak! as mentioned its the metering head that muffles out the sound

first things first its proven that the standard box is best performance wise wot is the point in running more boost and adding a fmic if your sucking in hot air? secondly you cant get a "size 5" cone in an rst as their is no room lastly an aftermarket management system will make all the difference, with the mfi system your not meant to get chatter if you ar then theirs you need a new fuel metering unit

im running 18psi on my s2 and i get just minor fluttering no matter how hard i boost up and change gear. EFI is the best way to go as you can run more power too

Running 12psi,

EFi is the only way to get it to chatter properly.
