right here the problem...i got an xr2 with s2 escort rs turbo engine
a few weeks ago it ran out of petrol, i filled it up and it wouldnt start, i pushed it round to this garage and the guy got it running but it ran like crap, he said the plugs needed cleaning up now because they had got crap all over them
so i got new plugs and still the car runs like ****, it idles really high, but maybe the guy turned the idle up i dont know..and when u rev it to like 3k rpm it hesitates and the revs bounce like its hittin the limiter or sumfin, plus it keeps on cutting out on me
anyone got any views on what might be the problem?
maybe the fuel filter/injectors need cleaning?

 

had this problem on a xr3i

missus ran it out of petrol

turned out to be a blocked injector

changed petrol filter and bought a bottel of red x
