Default AP caliper tool?

What's the best way to push the pistons back on an AP four pot caliper?

I would use a big pair of adjustable pliers on a normal sliding caliper,
But wouldn't one piston come out while pressing the other in?

a simple piston retractor, just extend the plates

or..

use a G clamp.. place two peices of wood, steel in the caliper.. squeeze em back in
