Right guys can any of you give me an idea of the cost for a web site to be design'd for my new company "Adrenaline Race & Performance Ltd"
I want a home page and that to direct to 8 more pages, about 3 of the pages will require admin to allow me to put updates on and special offers and latest photos of projects etc.
Also as an addition an online shop to be added at a later date.
needs to include sets and domain fees etc.

You need to give a bit more detail really Danny, try and draw up a more detailed spec.
At the moment its like me saying to you "i want you to build me a car, it needs to be quick, and 2 litre, how much will that cost?"
Without mentioning if i want it to be a 4wd converted mk1 or just do a stage 3 chip and turbo etc on a cossie.
You are likely to want stuff like contact forms for example, where people can send in requirements to get quotes etc i should think?

A website is something you can pay anything from £50 and a couple of pints to thousands of pounds for.
When thinking about your site remember what ever it contains and how it looks is how your business will be perceived.
If it looks 'home made' and there are spelling mistakes etc then it suggests that your business is amateurish, disorganised, lacks attention to detail etc
We've all seen the power of the internet on how people businesses can be made or ruined by forums like this, you only have too look at how some companys get a total slating on here.... its almost fashionable to slag some people off.
What I would say is, avoid the offers from mates to knock you something up as that can often be all well and good when you start out but when you want changes made or they've got it hosted on their personal webspace and its down for hours then it can be difficult.
This time now when you are at the outset is the most important time, get it right now and you wont have to worry about it 12 months down the line when you are sooo busy in the workshop you have no time to think about anything other than the work thats piling up, OR you are in a situation when the works dried up and you are trying to get business and by that time its too late. This applies to so many aspects of the business.
My business (www.linkmore.co.uk) is about helping small business use technology in their business and one of those areas is obviously the internet.
If I can help give me a shout.....

NeilM I totally agree with you, What ever I have HAS to look and perform 100% just like the work the company can offer. I'll look at your site in a moment
I'm going to follow up more details with Petrucci but anyone who feels they can help with a quality site pm me with details you need.

You should be very favourable at the moment since there's a large demand for new engineering based companies in the UK.
