Got home tonight and was walking up the street when I noticed these



Oh thought, oh interesting what are they doing.

Walked further up the road, saw another on the other side. And another, and another, and another.

They had painted these up the entire length of the road



What the fuck are they doing??

Anyone thats been down my road will know what when cars are parked either side you can just about fit one car down the road. And now they are putting bycicle lanes down our road

We are not on a main road, have no though traffic because its a dead end and get very little cyclist traffic though anyway!

Why are the cancil wasting my money on putting a cycle path here when its not needed?

They put them on wide foot paths here and paint a white line down the footpath.... Job jone---- new cycle path

 

You absolutely HAVE to send that in to a national newspaper - that's incredible!

 

Why not just change the law to allow cyclists to ride on footpaths outside of towns? Save a packet on white lines and red paint

ubeliveable eh... feckin fools prob got the wrong road or summit... but it is right they should draw a cycle road as it were in the road that they wanna put the path!!! So i really have no idea what they were doing with your town! ha ha nightmare... bet they were imported workers! ha ha

We had a classic with our lot. They painted the Gyratory in Watford and instead of painting "U' Pass" on the road they painted "UP' ass"

 

Funny you say that, yes they were, sounded eastern block. Parked their van right in the middle of the road os I couldn't get past

rememeber where you live, its to show that the roads and safe for cyclists so they dont try and use the A406 and also so that you could follow the route and use a bike as a alternative to transport



cant wait till they servey the road due to your complaint and agree that theres way too many cars on the road and as a result make resident parking like what ive got,,,,,,,, thats 95 quid a year to park my car when its been for over 3 years,,,,,,,,, also i cant own another car due to it too


so complaining about paint to inform people that there are other way around that can be better for your heart and also relive congestion seems soooo much more minor

Yeah I know where I live ginge, been here 19 years

Well that may be so, but they did seem to forget the cycle path that runs though the park behind the houses and the M11 which goes EXACTLY the same way!

Which dont negate the fact that this is woodford, in Essex, with an Ilford postcode and not london, the only time we get congestion down here is 8 in the morning and its not even down this road because, well, my road goes nowhere! This is the only cycle lane I know of for miles around. And all the roads leading in the direction of the 406 have more than enough from for bikes, cars, cyclists, padestrians, trucks, remember ginge, this is Woodford, not Finsbury Park

Also my road dont actually join onto the main road, joins onto another which then joins onto the main road, yet the path starts at the end of my road. So whats the point in that if cyclists (the very few that we do get down here) can't even see the path from the main road to follow it!

But this is all irrelevent because the reason I'm pissed off with it is Cyclists dont use our road enough to ever warrent a cycle path! And we certinately dont get enough cars down here at any one time to call it "congestion" anyway.

So they have paid a team to come out, paint a road, put up signs for
a day and they will pay another team to come down in the next few days to paint the lines in and all the other stuff, and I doubt its even going to be used.

As for the resident parking, I wouldn't mind that, would mean I have my parking space when I get home.

 

yeah but stu 1 permit per house though mate,, also no friends and family can visit when its res parking unless they use a bike,,,,,,,, good job theres a cycle route there


either way i think the cycling SHOULD be helped as its a very good form of transport
