My mate recently bought an rs turbo engined van that says on the v5 its an "Escort Bonus diesel" 1596cc petrol and the same with the mot certificate. The problem being is on his insurance documents it states "Escort Bonus diesel" 1800cc diesel not 1600 petrol ???!!!

But obvously the previous owners have some how got round this so were just wondering how.

Ring the insurance company and tell them its a 1600cc petrol

 

All the previous owner has done is not told D.V.A.L when they changed the engine (probley to get cheep insurance) so as far as D.V.L.A know it's still a Escort Bonus diesel and thats what it will come up if the police ever stop him id get the insurance changed because it's void how it is now which mean's your mate has got NO! insurance if he has an accident so if he want's to be 100% legal get it all changed logbook and insurance
