started my restoration under the escort.
starting at the back first so av stripped out the brakes.suspension and axle
got a brand new rear disc conversion to go on and everything else is gettin powder coated and new stainless bolts.
just starting to scrape off underseal which i aint looking forward to
will keep posting pictures as i progress

tane front bumper off to check for rust but it seems to be good like the rest of the car.a small bit at the rear but its only about a 2 inch square patch.nothing hard to sort.

cover came with the car when i bought it mate.some classic additions place and it cost 250 quid.will get the number out if you want it

just another daily update.no pics cos am just repeating what i took off on the other side,bolts were a bit rustier and i cut and bashed ma hands to f**k.thats all suspension and stuff off on the rear both sides.tommorow its all the other bits and pieces like brake lines etc..then for the fuel tank.aint looking forward to that cos a aint got a clue how to.good old haynes manual will be getting read.underseal is gona be pain to come off as its on thick. stoo your a lover not a fighter also interior is coming out for a full leather retrim but thats another matter

 

just a wee update,aint had much time to work on the car cos of the shift i am just now at work,lots of parts are away gettin powder coated at the moment,mite not look much underneath but considering it was thick wae under seal i think ive done good.av got the rear end primered and its looking good.while am at it.took the radiater and turbo out and new hybrid and alloy radiator are on order.will get more photos up when ive got underneath primered

 

my local Aldi had thes electric scrapers for 10 quid, saved me loads of elbow grease while removing underseal



keep the work up, it'll be well worth it when you know the underside of your car is minty mint

 

red16,am using an electric drill with steelwire attachment.its quite good

 

angle grinder with wire brush attachment similar to what youre using works a treat too

old wire brush attachment and new

whey gd to see this motor is get the once over on the underside looks so nice on the outside keep the updates flowing m8t

bad bit is they fling the shite everywhere, but they dont half remove it

 

 

just incase yous think am dead.aint had time to work on car cos of work but am off next two weeks so the plan is to have the car painted underneath and ready to put back together.got a new hi spec rear disc conversion to go on aswell

 

 

rear discs will really tidy the arse end up dont forget to paint them calipers yellow too

here you go dan and the brakes are 300mil.just got them delivered and they are huge paul its gettin full leather retrim and chrome cage inside am on holiday this week so the plan is to get the underneath primered and stoneguarded.got up at 7.30 this morning to run the girlfriend to work and she says shes having a day off to help take underseal off just about fainted.not one to turn down a hand we had some breakfast and get up up the garage
first ofall was to mask off the car as the cover was getting a bit dirty
then time fo me to get back underneath with the drill and continue to take underseal off while the girlfriend scrapes off the thick stuff on the arches.couple of hours later and she starts moaning that she bored
so i thot ad apply some primer and that to the rear to see what its gona look like.didnt hav the heater on so the paint didnt take very well.still to go over it all again anyway .finished for the day early.will get a lot mre done tommorrow maself.suspension arms and that away gettin powdercoated silver.

What power you goin for once you've got the Cossie Management sorted out?

 

going for 250bhp.should get it as it done 200 at 14psi without management
