I have just looked on MSD website and it says that the coil pack driver is not properly tested yet and not up for sale
I thought a few guys on here had them? or has the website not been updated recently?

Correct. Im awaiting a new batch and will not offer any for sale until they are within my personal possesion and tested, this negates the chance of any false promises from my company.

I spoke to Mr Bayjo today and he can get the p8 ecu to run its built in coil pack driver for Ł 250. That includes a litte gismo to run rev counter
And he can mod my pectal loom to allocate the extra ignition amp so it all looks nice and tidy.

I did manage to ring MSD a couple of weeks ago but who ever i spoke to on the fone was VERY aragent towards me i asked about getting my ecu to run coil packs and the reply i got was " yes but what you going to do about the rev counter get a stack dash" i dident know there was a problem with rev counter thats why i was asking. Then i asked about there own ciol pack drivers when they was getting them in stock and the reply was "absoulty no idea". not the best way to speak to customers i think. Maybe they was having a bad day and i recon they do get some right loosers ringing up and asking stupid questions but but i wasent.

no mate they get looser ringing up constantly, ive been there and heard some of the conversations that kenny/stu have had ove rthe year, and fook me - i would NOT even entertain 95% of the people who ring up with there bags of shit.

oh and btw , kenny/stu are prob some of the nicest people you could ever meet, even tho kenny's dancing is a bit suspect come to think about it stu's isn't much better

says me 'john travolter'

I can only appologise for the way you were dealt with Nick as it must have been either myself or Kenny that spoke to you, so i appologise on behalf of whoever it was.

I can only presume we were having a very bad day as i assure you we are not normally like that.

Unfortunately, the response you got about the coilpack drivers was totally true, we sadly have no idea when they are due in. They are months late now as it is and we refuse to tell customers any different as we dont want to become known for talking bollox with schedules like most companies do. The current correct answer is now "Sorry, i have no idea".

The thing with the drivers is that if i recieved 100 tomorrow, they would be sold within around 48hrs. We ran a huge advertising campaign including a large feature with a Ford magazine, bought 50 coils, amps, looms, bracketry, even had leads made up to my spec and length, (Tot that up in your head, it was a huge outlay) only to be let down by the supplier. We spent at least 50hours on the phone the next month or so having to tell prospective purchasers who had read the article that we didnt know when we could actually sell them one. Talk about losing faith in a supplier.... Maybe you recieved the tail end of some of this dissapointment Nick, sorry

Dont get me wrong by the way... The product, is fantastic, and i cant imagine a YB without one anymore, and its latest guise is even better than ever after we have detailed a few changes i wanted.... But they are harder to come by than genuine Ł20notes for a tenner

Genuinely sorry to hear about these supply issues Stu, as I'd imagine once this gets out past the Ford "internet scene" it will be THE mod to have - not in a modification way, but in a "what Ford would have done if they still built the YB" kind of way

Shame the supplier has absolutely no foresite what-so-ever, as the same would be true of his ECUs .

Matt,
The wasted spark set up of dizzyless gives a signal that would be equivalent to a 2 cylinder engine, so the OE tacho displays half the revs it should. Not an issue for configurable systems such as your Elliot / Stack tachos, but without a suitable signal converter (in development by Simon/Ahmed so I understand), is another issue to overcome.

Matt,
No worries, if it does read half revs, you can just send it back to Elliot and have it reconfigured .
