Hello i got a stage 3 saff with a t34 with .48 housing but it takes ages to get to full boost. but once on full boost it snaps your neck
Went to the 1/4 mile today and its a nightmare getting off the line. launched it with still no luck

do you mean it takes ages before it starts to make positive boost, or once it makes boost it takes ages to reach maximum boost?? if it's the latter then try a -34 actuator

I had a T34 with a .48 housing on it - always took ages to spool up. Turned out the wastegate shaft was bent, so the wastegate was not seating/sealing properly. Still saw more than 30psi with it though, just took it's time getting there.

that was a good guess then, not a lot you can do but run BIG BOOST like its meant to and a turbo to suit or raise compression for better off boost power. You may be able to have more of the boost mapped in further down the revs to help illiminate some lag. I bet its fine between gears when on full boost though is it?

tighten the preload a touch on the actuator it makes a world of difference. The tighter it is the more response u will get mate. (obviouslly u will get a bit more boost but its worth it) When i put my -34 on it was not very tight at first and was ultra laggy but very smooth when it came on boost. After tightening the arm it become very snappy and back end happy

My saph's runnin low comp and a t34 with a .55 exhaust housing and a -34 and it not really that laggy at all.

To be honest mate id sugest getting it mapped and setup correctly rather that just trying to adjust preload on the actuator and stuff like that.

as above this is the best way to do things but just check that the arm is nice and tight as if it has been off the car for any reason or somebody has been messing with it then its not going to be doing its job properly......but be carefull.

btw can i ask what kind of actuator it is ?

When you say the car is laggy, when exactly do you start to see positive boost in 5th and when do you get maximum boost?

I have a T4 (no that is when you get to know the meaning of laggy!) and I get positive boost by 2800 rom and maximum (1.8 bar) at 4000 rpm. Car has 7.5:1 c/r and 435 bhp.

That does sound a little laggy compared to mine, bearing in mind I have std cams......

Just seen this

I had a similar problem to this with my car the once.

Mine turned out to be that i wasn't getting full throttle.
Get someone to sit in your car and press accerator to the floor(engine turned off) and then see if it is opening the throttle fully in the engine bay.

Once mine had full throttle it was a totally different car to drive

My last engine ran a t34 with .48 and cutback turbinewheel on a portet head and balanced bottom end. It was just slightly more laggy than with the std t3 turbo.

Check your actuator.
How much pre tension do you have on it?
