I doubt anyone is going to respond when offered over Phils guesstimate values with:
'Im sorry mr buyer man, Ima says my car is only worth 11k, you keep that money and go on a nice cruise'

Hmmmmmmmm
I disagree but see your point- at those prices the cars would sell very quickly.

but they have a higher market value... What does amuse me is people that want quick sales but put there cars up at silly high prices.

I personally wouldn't pay more than 11k for an escos simply because I'd want to drive the thing and not be afraid of getting stone chips etc to ruin the value hence why the car would be around 11k.
If I wanted a trailer car I would spend 15k upwards or in other words trailer money.

there are some great examples of over priced cars in the for sale section at the mo...

A car that stands out as being excellent value for money though is Blakeys 3 door. What a car and for that price.. it looks amazing and I am sure no one in there right mind would disagree considering the prices some have fetched recently.

anyway thats my piece I will let everyone else now rip your theory apart.

A car is worth what people are willing to pay for it...... if people pay Ł15k for an Escort Cossie people will sell for Ł15k simple

Phil what makes you the font of all knowledge on this subject anyway?
As far as i am aware you have only sold 1 RS that being the 3 door you got off Steve and you broke your ropey Saff!
Just wondered what makes you an expert on this subject all of a sudden
I'm guessing your running out of controversial material and therefore scraping the barrel

That is a different kettle Mercury...you aint ever gonna trade that or sell that quickly as YOU would feel its worth more than a more used example.

I'd not pay 17k as i would want a used one...as you drive your example around and its worth my figures

Freddy I answered this.

That car would prob have a 20k or somewhere round that price tag.

GREAT if you are going to concourse the car or garage it and trailer it everywhere but if you're going to buy a 500 to drive and use you couldn't buy that car unless you were very wealthy and/or didn't care about ruining the car. As soon as it gets a stone chip etc it needs painting and looses value.

Why would i be worried Phil i don't make a living from Cossies its just a side line that i can take or leave!
As for bringing prices down yes i agree you owning a Cossie is enough to stop anyone wanting to be associated with the brand

Jake,I understand what you mean but most 500's are concourse or just very well kept, driven or not, cant say ive seen many RS500's go for 10k.....

I personally would want to spend about 14k+ for one, And I wouldnt keep it to be a bufty either,Not my style

Cheers anyway

You aint looking mate- I cant remember the exact price but one went recently on ebay ( someone who posts on here and Karl had done work for) that went for around 13k and that was an ace car and driven lots. I also know of people who have paid 10-13 for them too...

To say you wouldn't look at one for less than 14k is 100% blinkered and suggests that anything less than this is fooked.

When I purchased my Saph 4x4 i went all over the country looking and paid 5.3k for my car which was middle of the road for the money I had but not on condition- I then sold the car as after I spent 2 or 3 months driving around.I realised I'd spent 5k on an old car that only had the condition to go on and that if I drove it any more- put mileage on it or broke something on the car it would only loose value like a brick.

I'm just different I suppose and as far as I am concerned there are loads of each car out there so if I cant get what I want for the price I want to pay I'll just look else where- time and time again I have offered people less than they want for there cars only to see them get desperate 8 weeks later and sell them for more or less what I offered.
