I doubt any Breakdown organisation will cover anything other than legitimate road usage.

They are just like Insurance Companies, looking for any way out they can.

When my m8 blew his engine up, we pushed it outside Santa Pod and got recovered back to Maidstone I was passenger, and told them it failed just before the entrance.

RAC picked tony Turbo just inside the gates when he did his clutch in.

I've seen some people's car fail, and they move it about 1/4 mile up the road from the entrance

I can see why companies like the AA & RAC dont want to get involved in this sort of thing. They are there for 'accidental breakdown' they arent there to help people who have driven their cars in a manner likely to cause problems.

The fairest thing to do is put a surcharge on cars that are collected from track days or places like Santa Pod.

You've broken it... so why should they fix it or recover it ?

If you've had a failure on track you pay a Ł50 additional cost to be recovered home.

Same as any other insurance, you want track day cover, you extra for it.

On the other hand you could argue that there are some people who dont maintain their cars properly and rely on the services of the AA / RAC to keep them on the road.

So this could be deemed a similar thing to willfully putting stress on your car likely to cause damage.... and I beleive this is one of the reasons you are limited to the number of callouts a year before you are charged.

whos aa,and why should santa need his pods covered?hes got a big warm suit!

push it out side, tell em yes it fooked up in there ,but you have to pick me up coz im on the public highway causing a hazard .ive paid my bill.you make the rules not me!and smile at them! if they say "well were not taken you now,!"cancell your sub and report them for not sticking to their contract! get someone else to get you ,pay ,and ,recoup the money after legal proceedings,

or ,some insurance can give you track cover, expensive, but so is a written off motor!

or lie and go to hell when you die!

You can leave your car in Santa Pod if you have troubles, When the operator ask if you've been racing it just deny all knowledge

I'm not and never have been a member of the AA, so I have to ask this question......

Does it say anywhere on your cover certificate that they won't cover you from any such place???? if it doesn't surely they have to cover you

When I was leaving Santa Pod yesterday I saw 3 RAC vans parked pretty much outside. Do they normally do this? I wasn't sure if they were parked there to watch out for people pushing there car out of Santa Pod and then ringing up or if they were just there on stand by as they get a lot of calls to santa pod .

I herd from the pod staff that they are stoping RAC vans from coming in,untill they a job is loged due to a patrol coming in saying he had a job when he didn't just to watch racing.
