chattion to a blokey today he has for sale a rs500 ecu which he said came off a car that had the 8 injectors etc, cant remember if he said l8 or p8 or somin
out of interest whats somin like this worth?

 

well level 8's are worth about Ł150

and p8's are about Ł350-400

but RS500's ran L1 ecu's as standard even with the bits there to run 8 injectors

so watch wot you buying... it could be another bloke that thinks RS500's were 500 Brake!

 

how could you tell if its a gen one.

 

I thought the ECU from a 3DR was different to the RS500 one

 

it is.. a 3dr runs L6 ECU

The 3DR runs a L1 ECU as standard

 

L1 3dr Cos/500
L6 Sapph' 2wd
L8 4x4 Sapph'
P8 EsCos

thought the late 2wd's ran l6, must just be saff's

 

hmm so even if its cheap cheap ill steer clear then lol

 

slight correction bill rs 500 ran a level 1a this is nothing more than the software so you are actually correctish

 

think all ecu's can be modified to take the 8 injectors though, can't they.

 

no pectel only made 4 level 1 conversions this was mainly due to the l1 being discontinued and replaced by the much better l6

 

Im after a L6 if any1 has 1 forsale?????

Whats the difference between th L1 and L1A?

My 3dr has the L1A for some reason

 

l1a was rs500 the maps where better for cold start
