not really.

Depending what one you can get it welded up and then machined to take long studs.

These pass through the normal holes and screw into the new holes further down in the block.

the new long studs don't touch the old hole so there is no pressure on the welded bit.

Will be ok when all welded up as its only in the water galleries.

The welded up bit stops the water getting passed into the gasket.

When the block gets machined they make the old hole bigger so the new long studs can pass through and screw down into the new threads further down inside the block, therefore no pressure on the weled up area of the cracked bit.

Paul,

there are oil galleries but there at the side of these holes and are nothing to do with the bolt holes.

im sure that it cracks between the oil on one side and the water onthe other side, caused by water in the headbolt hole

thats why a make of mine broke his MINT cossie

might be a better idea to find another block and trasfer it all over

to save you getting a new block, lol.

No....

long studding is done to have more clamping force on the head when running higher boost.

The studs are not strech bolts and these can be re-used too.

Ginge,

All depends where it cracks. His has cracked between the water gallery so this will be ok to get fixed.

i have a spare engine in my shed with damage like this too and i qwill be keeping that as a back up block.

Think you could get it done cheaper if you ring around.
