Hello !
Has anybody out there ever converted a mk4 escort to the looks of a mk 3?
I've got a tidy(ish) Mk 4 XR3I but really prefer the looks of the mk3 all the mk3's i've looked at are either 2 expensive or complete dogs!
Just wondering if anybody has done it and what panels are required
I can do all my own welding so thats not a problem
Any advice comments etc would be gratfully recieved

its a bitch to do though, fron panel, wings, scutlle panel, then the rear panel and lower under the bumper bit
fair play for attempting it
oh and the dash fixings are in the wrong location to make a mk3 fit a mk4
would be eaiser buying a mk3 dog

It would be better and cheaper to find a decent Mk3 shell
Thats alot of work to do it right and if you show anyone who knows enough about the mk3 and mk4 they will be able to tell.

Regards
Cant see how on earth its a bitch to do .... front panel wings and scuttle are piece of piss, rear panel a little harder, but can be done, need a couple of rectanguler holes in rear quarters for bumper end caps thats it externally
Re dash mounts, thats easy enough to get round, espescially form mk4->Mk3.... harder the other way round as you need the brackets for blower ducting...
I know other things are different such as door catches and the check strap bolt blah blah but so what, visually they will be identical...
