gotta massive problem wi my stage 1 sapphire (2wd) when cold its fine once warm it just dies and instantly goes again i loose rev counter everything but its back as quick as it goes.... changed phase sensor and crank sensor is fine..... any1 else had this problem??????? been told it could be a relay under the dash and ive also heard 1 going beserk now and again first problem in 15000 miles grrrr help please lol

What about the blue water temp sensor in the back passenger side of the head?? this can sometimes cause this kind of a fault!!

ive thought about this but for some reason ive shy'd away from it......... mayb cos it sounded kinda daft when i though of it how can it cause it to totally cut out??? ignition the lot??? were the questions i asked my self but now some1 else has mentioned it then it gotta be worth a try

i just seem to loose the ignition rev counter stops then as soon as it does it its running again only does it while moving even on a smooth surface although while accelerating hard its fine it just seems to be when ur at a steady speed i.e town driving

i was exactly the same as you i thought it sounds daft it wont be the water temp sensor, any way i changed every sensor apart from that one and the last one i did fixed it... it was the water temp sensor.they are only Ł20 from woodford garage

must admit ive noticed shes running rich guess this could also be down to this playing up???? took her off the road now for winter so gonna go overything and also poly bush it throughout...... oh the joys of driving a 1.6 escort for 6 months
