this is my mk1 orion 1.6 ghia.

yeah it has the mk2 rs kit, yeah it still has pepperpots... yeah it needs some tlc.










planned mod's for next year are: Lowering kit.. 17" alloys... pumping stereo system... respray, mod'd skirts and tinted windows, still has the 1.6 cvh, with the xr3 cam carb n manifolds.

unfortunately she need's alot of tlc... to the tone of about a grand, but she'l get it, and i'll fix her up to all her glory

 

should be a nice motor when its all sorted, id keep it the way it was and just tidy it up

i thought about restoring it back to how it should look, but then i saw one with the mk2 orion rs kit on it and thought hell yeah!! so i bought it... and i's been kinda stationary for the last 4 years (work problems etc) so i's needing some welding (Ł600) full bush set (gona put poly's in) and the engine needs a bit of a tune up too

 

love orions, kinda wishing i hadnt scrapped my mk1 now, oh well

thought i'd dig this out again coz i need ya help...

who can recomend a descent bodyshop in either Essex (close to southend if poss) or in the plymouth area ? i basicly want a total bodyshell refurb. the amount of welding required means i don't think i'll be doing it myself, as the list of panels that need replacing is kinda long.. and i don't have a garage or any where i can work on the car.

wouldn't mind a quote either (or a rough estimate atleast) or just to know how much it's cost someone to get a similar job done professionally

Thought i might as well update this thread rather than starting a new one..

The black one died



not a very good pic, but basically the battery tray was that bad that the rust had spread right across to by the clutch pedal

so i bought this..





Throw Ł2000 at it and she currently looks like this..









She doesn't look entirely like that actually, i need to strip the bonnet completely, the front and rear xr bumpers ( which i got for a billy bargain price of about 40 quid on egay ) and get them sprayed, then replace the foglights cos 1 broke and they look shit anyway. I've also got an escort 'optional escort' front bib for it - i think it looks kinda similar to an Rs1600i one without the bits that go up the arch !
