Default S2 Underside Restoration?

How easy is it to paint the under side of a s2, as i was thinking of taking a week of work the end of this month and giving it a good go. What exactly is involved?

All depends how far you want to take it ,i would say in one week you would be pushing it ,better to do a section at a time if you cant do it all at once ,have a look on my thread (Click on my sig )the underside on mine took two people 8hours a day 3 weeks to complete from the dash backwards ,front end took 2 months, best to strip all the suspension and tank out aswell

as above, once all the crap is off,and new parts(where needed,i.e.shackles),
its a case of a good wire brushing, and any welding needing done, then a good couple of coats of your favourite colour ,

mines juss done,i have a black turbs ,my underside is now silver!

all the new stuff is ready for the fookin salty roads to fuck it up!
gonna librally coat it in AC-40,aircraft preservative!

As above, depending on how good you are with tools and how much time you wanna spend on the car each day (and as said how much of a job you make of it) I think you'll be pushing it! I did mine last winter, but it took about 5 months it started out as a general tidyup, but new parts soon started arriving If you want inspiration tho, click on the Twin's restoration thread

I am in process of doing a complete restoration I started this project about 3 months ago I have spent about 4-5 weeks prepare and painting the underside and I had a week off to put it back together…. It is not a hard job and everything is quite straight forward but I would personal label every thing you take off. I would replace the bushes, fuel pump assembly while your under there it a very very messy job take you time and make it look the plums otherwise your just be under there again in few months.

guys,read my thread on s2 (akito-man)

theres things you need to check, the brake valve switches,on the two i had ,believe this,BOTH had gravel particles contaminating/blocking the movement on the drivers side,in exactly the same place/way,rendering their affectivness, making that side redundant!IRONIC!,CHECK YOURS!

but see what you can get at,my paint took 1 week 2coats,after all the prep was done, but im a painter by trade!,thats workin in your own time, after days work, outside on the drive

you get it everywhere,wear gloves
