Our house has just broke the ceiling price in the area for a semi. This is after all talk of prices dropping etc. It was valued last tuesday, went on the net and in the shop on saturday afternoon and we have just received an offer today for the full asking price!!!
Prices dropping? No
Market slowing? No.. not here!

.....but according to some people on here, I'm some sort of c'unt for not buying a flat at that money.
Unfortunately, I have no choice, so one will be forthcoming, but it's gonna be tight on the money front for a while!

A 2 up 2 down old terrace round here is £75k in a half right area, thats on the road parking and a lottery if its infront of your house or not, and people question my motives as to buying abroad.

same here mate. Our terrace that we made quite a bit on 2.5yrs ago selling for 65k has just sold again for 110k!
wish wed kept the fooker
Prices do seem to be steadying a bit here (nottinghamshire), although they are relativly cheap..er infact very cheap conpared to doon south! Im lookin at 3 bed semis for around 100k at min, witha garage and big back garden!!
Can't get anything in MK for under 150k now and there arn't enough houses to keep up with demand! Every 7 years houses double in price so don't hold your breath waiting for them to fall
my parents are having trouble selling the house they have thats just outside Cardiff. been forsale for about 8 months and had no offers. same story for someone over the road wanting to sell. our house is 30k less than what the estate agent told us to advertise it for.
people don't seem to be buying around here much as far as i can tell. i think people are expecting them to drop so are holding out.

My flat in greater london has fallen a bit recently so i'm renting it out for a while rather than selling it, which was my original plan. They will soon go back up even if they fall a little, double on average eveyr 7-10 years
