Doubt you'll get insured for less than £2500

And an S1 as a first car, good luck

I would say a small fortune mate, because unfortunately young inexperienced people have accidents in powerfull cars (relative)

I have a guy work for me banned 155mph in a 30 in a supercharger Prelude and he can not see why he was banned = moron

Good look finding cheap insurance though cause if he has more brain cells then most of us when we were his age he will drive smartly

Cheers Mike

3i's and RST's are about 1 group difference iirc, so yea, oh and I'd say he aint got a hope in getting any insurance company to insure him!

dont think he has any chance of insuring it tbh, he is 17, doesnt even have a years experience and now wants a car with a turbo.

Tell him to kep the saxo for another 2 years to build his NCB and experience and then get one, insurance will still be high then but at least he would be able to insure it.

i wouldnt recommend a s1 mate, great car, but unfortunately i think it will be too quick for him being not driving for too long.

Good luck tho, coz I know there are a fair few 18yr olds on here with group 20 cossies

BTW, IIRC, an XR3i is about a group 10, and an ERST is a group 15.

wouldnt suggest getting something like an s1 so soon after learning to drive

give it a few years once insurance "should" come down, and then get something nice and worthwhile like a S1 etc

there appricating classics, not the type of car that should be thrashed round tesco's car park late at night

He said he wants to keep the saxo but the only car he would sell it for is a S1 i dont think he would smash it up as he aint a bad driver and he has slowed down a lot now as one of his frends rolled his mini copper 100mph last week and wrote it off
And as he was driving like a prat he is not getting paid out 10K for car and 5K to get it insured and not getting a £££
And the mini is in my work
