since i had my computer i havent had sound i have speakers but dont work and the device says it all working properly

in the back of the sound card has 3 coloured hole
pink
green
blue


what do these do one is for speakers which one?

Pink is normal colour for speakers, green is mic, blue is line level output.
If device manager indicates that the soundcard is working properly, make sure it's nothing daft like the soundcard volume control is turned down, or the input type (wave, line in) is not deselected.

 

i think you will find GREEN is Speakers mate. pink for mic and blue for line in. if still no good double click on volume speaker (bottom right) and check for muted options like WAVE. good luck!

 

in that case, it sounds like the colours are arbitrary - both my PC's follow the colours I quoted..

If its an "aftermarket" soundcard.

Check that your PC's motherboard doesnt have built in soundcard. If it does, you will need to disable it befoe your other one will work. So use Device Manager to disable it, and if possible, in the BIOS too
