Default quick question: directions to birmingham airport?

the route planner keeps saying have to go on the m42?

I always thought you could get there straight off the m6?

im not going personally but my mum is driving my sister to the airport at 4am and I told her just fire down the m6 till she see signs for it and the NEC?? but im a bit worried that she'll fook it up if you have to go on m42 now?

so can anyone confirm how you get them when you are travelling south down the m6?

the m42 is ok mate. straight off at the nec. other option is carry on down the m6 and down the a452 ( i think!!) its the first coventry sign and across to the a45.

M42 J6
M6 J4

Get off and head for NEC/AIRPORT/TRAIN STATION

Pretty much all on the same road to be fair.

Yes you join the m42 for one junction off the M6 at Jc 4 and then come off the m42 for the NEC. At this roundabout follow A45 to birmingham and turn off for airport is on left after about 2 miles.

Ok re read

Right as you come to the J4 area stay in the left hand lane.
(J4 area is where it starts to say M6toll)

Stay left and get off at the A446
GO LEFT at the island
Follow the dual carriageway down to the next island under a fly over
3rd exit so you are now on the road above the island the A45
As you go up the slip road move into the middle of the 3 to join the A45
Now its easy look for the Airport signs.

http://www.multimap.com/map/browse.c...multimap.y=275

Thats J4 of the m6
Get on to the A446 south and it joins the A452 which is also shown on that pic
THen they go to the Island further down.
Go west here (or when you get to the island driving it will be right)
And you cant miss the airport
