mine currently getting minimal use now i have bought the oil burner
run around 405, maybe once/twice a week, only in the dry weather,
when its not in use, its in the garage under a sheet

plus the 405 does 50 mpg so cheap motoring

My lass uses it more than me though the week cos we have an 18 month old and APPARENTLY she sometimes needs the car! Only uses it bout 3 times at most and only short journeys. I use it at weekends but don't really go far, just have places to go which are too far to walk and it's any excuse to take her for a spin really. On the rare occasion it does get wet, i chamois it dry in the garage. i love the S1 and always have but there's no point havin it if it aint gonna get used.

I try to use mine as little as possible for a few reasons;

I'm on a limited mileage policy,
General wear and tear on it,
The worry it'll break,
The buzz from driving it isn't as good if you use it all the time,

very similar reasons mate, after using the 405 for a few days and
i jump in the s1 im smiling all the way, but also, im scared
its going to break, but hey, i still rag it every now n then, but i also
just enjoy just taking it easy listening to the mongoose

less fuel used that way too

True, but when you are sailing as close to the edge like some of us are, it makes sense to look after them

If the 405's got a intercooler Get it to Jeremy J Fearne in Bakewell who for Ł150 will make you wonder why you ever messed around with a motor with spark plugs.

Mine's about as close to the edge as ur gonna get - if there gonna break, they'll do it quickly - hence 20k and 18 months of every day abuse

Dan, whats the matter with it now? Other than the Gearbox giving up the ghost?
The rings dont seem to be doing their job (scraping oil off the bores) despite being the correct spec for the engine. So we are going to fit the original spec rings next week and hopefully that will sort it. Lost 2.5 litres of oil in 125 miles

One day it might be finished............

Not too often. It sits at my Mum's in her garage. Need to get her out and blow the cobwebs of her

The FRST get's used more often at probably every other weekend although it's doing daily duties while our main car is having a new radiator put in
