Default Its that time again - thinking of sellin Escos*pics*

Well its that time of year again, car off the road now for the bad weather and been thinking of selling up.

I was offered £21k at National Day and the guy was deffo looking to buy that day and its now got me thinking again. I've really got a passion for an M3, been looking on the Autotrader site and can get a 51 plate with 40k miles for the same money................

What to do as I'll lose £19k if I was to sell up for £21k but I'm quite bored with her at the moment as she never gets used as it nearly allways rains when I want to take her out and it takes ages to clean her up underneath after she gets wet and dirty

Wish I never started fookin concours

FOOOOOOOOOOOOOOKKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!!!!

Trouble is, the Esc cos was my dream car and with the spec of mine, it's a fantastic, very fast road car but after 3 years, am bored!!

I have given up concours now, not gonna do it next year but dont want the condition of the car underneath to deteriate because it'll de-value the car, bit of a catch 22 really

LOL at mine and Mikes replies ... As above though really I Quite like the M3s, they are now alot cheaper etc, but as has been said there are shed loads of them about... AND they will be slower than your car lol,

Either way 21k IS a SHED load of cash to be given for an ECos IMO

as said by other peeps further up keep it as the M3's are far too common nowadays, plus they dont have that special something that the escos has

keep it but use it more often is my vote

Why not start using it properly then instead of just polishing it. I mean if your bored of all the hard work that goes into the bufty show stuff knock it on the head and enjoy the car out on track and have some proper fun

Glad to see we're not the only ones who have this problem... well frequently lately

Losing £19k is , but then again... £21k

If someone would offer me that kind of money for the cos, I'd throw in the turbo as an extra

if i was you scott i whould waxoil it up so you can then use it and not cry if it rains, also when you come to sell it can be cleaned off by the new owner if they want to with out to much hard work. Then use your car like i do, why do you think i have never done concours with my car ? the reason is it spoils the fun you can have with it and turns the car into somethink that you are scared to use incase you get a stone chip or get some dirt on it, just use it and injoy the 400 bhp, like i am going to do with mine as i might evern do a track day with mine as i have the bug again for it asfter taking it round at national day, dont sell or you will regret it big time evern more so when you see it driving around or parked up at a show next year.

that my thourghts on it as i have had the same cheers dunc

FOR :
I'd keep the car!
Like everyone else says.........just enjoy it! You done the concours, now just enjoy the car you built!!

AGAINST :
I know your car is totally spec'd and all just about new, but still shows the miles, which will never turn back ................And if your getting that type of money offered, let go! Or take some parts off and lower the spec abit?

BUT DONT BREAK IT....................................CANT AFFORD ANOTHER NICE ESCOS TO BE SOLD IN BITS!

here's an idea, sell it for the £21k and then buy a cheaper same spec non bufty escos that you can really enjoy. give it some time and if you still want an M3 then sell up again.

I think you would regret selling it Scott, especially after all the hard work you've put into it.

Since National Day Ive used mine as often as I can, and just enjoyed the car, and its the best thing I have ever done in giving up concours! I looked underneath the car the other day, and you would cry if you saw it now! Its not damaged at all, just covered in shite, but nothing that wont wipe off! The exhaust is no longer polished, just a nice shade of blue all the way through!

Although saying that I am glad I have out the car away now for the winter (tax is out and busy at work) because I was pushing the car harder and harder and every time I took it out, I have had a few moments when you think I aint gonna catch this! Every time I left the home for a blast I kept thinking this could be the last time! lol!

same here Ian, we went for a ride up to Hartside a few weeks ago, this is the Biker's heaven, a cafe on top of a big hill over looking some major twisty roads, I was fookin killin the car racing all the bikes but I'm picking up a few stone chips, lost a cv boot clip so splattered the underside with grease, rear driveshafts come loose AGAIN, sick of locktighting them in, just the little things are pissin me off and now she's off the road for the winter, am thinkin, what a waste of money sitting in the garage

Art sold his car - what for?

Mark,
FYI the engine was standard with just 803s, so would account for some of the reason for the low price.

Mine has had a full resto including underneath was fully prep'd and sprayed, shotblasted then powder coated running gear, EVERY nut and bold replaced with polished stainless steel ones, brand new everything, bearings, fully polybushed, coilovers, HUGE brakes front and back, new wheels.....Engine had a full 400 bhp rebuild/ large turbo conversion from Harvey Gibbs 5k miles ago. All in all, a fully modified mint concours car.......total rebuild cost circa £40k

a few pics:

worth £21k + in my opinion

You're SO .

However, grudging respect given . But PLEASE sell it to someone who will cane the living shit out of it on track, rather than someone who will treat it as an ornament .
