Default Xr2i running prob

Whats this on an 8v Xr2i?!?!?!

Unfortunatly dont know fook all about em

Looks like an ISCV to me but just wanted to make sure, car wont run from cold unless its unplugged (obviously have to keep the revs up or it'll stall) But then when u blip it unless the white sensor on the inlet is unplugged it stutters at about 2k revs...................

Any ideas to why?!?!

Ah right thought so mate cheers, so would that beeing fooked cause it to run shit?!

Know on the cossie it would just normally cause probs idleing till its warm

But as i say unless the white one on the inlet is unplugged aswell it still runs shit So bit confused as to what it could be?!

Also wheres the map sensors on these things?! cos a mate thought it could be that causing the prob???

Yea mate all the time, started ages ago but when i got the cossie it kinda got left on the drive till now

baically, was driving down the motor way and it lost power, then pulled over and it died and wouldnt run.

From cold now, you'll crank it over and it wont do anything, unplug the white sensor and it''ll occasionlly try to turn over but wont for a long time, then eventually does but runs shit and tries to stall, and as i say there sa miss at about 2k revs.

Found out yesterday when i had a play that if both air temp and ISCV are disconnected will start and rev fine unless u dont hold the revs then will stall, even when warm

See if you can try someone else's MAP sensor - mine went on an old XR2i I had years ago causing very similar symptoms to what you're suffering.

Cheers,

Andy

That sounds like the MAP sensor is gubbed. Try another MAP sensor, see if it helps.

Right baicsally, got 2 map sensors from a breakers yard and its still doing it with both

Wont even try and start if u just crank it but with the ISCV unplugged it'll try 2 turn over but wont, if u give it slight revs then it almost starts then dies!! had it rev for a few seconds a couple of times then again dies moreso when u press the throtle

Any other ideas?! thought ECU but wont know till i try another one!

Might be Throttle position sensor knackered. Id even try another coil pack on it. Thats the early type ISCV you have to which requires cleaning quite regular, the later type was maintence free.
