whats the difference between a cosworth 205 block and a normal 205 block from a pinto

As far as I know there is no difference other than that cosworth handpicked the Ford 205 blocks based on the tolerences that each individual block had been machined to.

hence a cossie 205 block should have tighter tolerences than a Ford one.

they were selected because of there cylinder wall thickness......!

if you look where the dizzy goes on a 205 block there is a 4 digit number stamped into the block, each number corresponds with each cylinder and they will be all 2's or 3's on a cossie block(or on a block that could have been selected) but i cannot remember if they are 3's or 2's

cosworth uses both 2 and 3 standard bore grades.
