You need to get a copy of the deeds to determine responsibility.
It's not as black and white as left right etc.
For example the boundary to MY right side;
Top half is a wall and is joint responsibility between me and one neighbour.
Bottom half of the same boundary is a fence and is the responsibility of another neighbour.
The boundary to My left;
is the responsibility of yet another neighbour.
And the boundary at the bottom;
is the responsibility of a completely different neighbour.
