Default octane, vernier

i reallise that special hi oct fuels and octane booster etc is used in race cars but is it any good in fast road engines? im desperately trying to get more horses without a turbs. the engines had some work done already so im lookin for small gains. what kinda gain should i expect for a vernier pulley on a cvh?

Would only be a worthwhile gain if you set the car up to take advantage of the higher octane.

Just chucking in octane boosters/higher octane fuel won't do much.

Vernier may be worth doing if you have a performance cam and can be bothered to pay someone to set it up, not more than a couple of BHP though.
