Anyone know of a garage that knows their cossies around the stockport area? (Apart from Atlantic of course )

My Cossie as developed a rattle at the top end that sounds suspiciously like the Tappets.

Had the cam cover off tonight and the cam seems fine thank god

Where in Stockport are u mate? Rusty is your closest, and would defo recommend him. If u can travel to Blackpool then defo motorsport developments.

 

Theres a garage called Autolink services in Cheadle Hulme (it behind a petrol station, think its BP). The guys that owns it races a n/a cosworth mk2 Escort which he built, he has also been restoring a BDA engined mk1 Escort RS. He's also built a N/A cosworth engine on throttle bodies, for another Westfield owner, which is supposed to have 260bhp ish (apparently it was trying to climb off the rollers at 250bhp)., built a 210bhp 2.0 zetec for another guy and set my front geometry. His work seems good so it may be worth speaking to him.

Try RE performance in bury they have alot in, also try my mate at BM in bolton he re-builds alot of cossies and he knows his shit, hes a top guy and wont try and rip you off!

 

Might be worth going seeing Quasar engineering in Bredbury. They are a bunch of older chaps who are engine builders. No dobut they would have a listen to it for you.

 

They are awesome there, build lots of race engines, and do all my machining
