I am having a dilema cant decide wether or not I want to sell my white RS500 prototype No 2!! I never use the car and now have a desire to buy an E46 M3 cab! what sort of money do you reckon it is worth? unrestored and in excellent condition, with 34k miles, it has a graham Hathaway 425 conversion which is 4 greens and head work! here is a pic or 2!!

Nick,
Wrong site to ask on imo,, but as you know its a hard one to value, on the one hand it one of the four proto-types, so i presume its on a D plate?? But the with the vehicle been modified i'd say that will affect its value,,
I would say around 18k-20k ?? But then it depends if someone really wants it, it could fetch more,,,,Oh i don't know!!

well ............it's white 1 of only 56
it's low milage 34000 miles
it's 1 of 4 prototypes and these cars dont come up for sale very often
big engine spec
and trust me you wont find my original untouched cars
after recent conversation's with the rsoc rs500 register and my self being around rs500's since 1992
and ive owned my current rs 500 prototype no 3 for 11 years this is my second 500
imo
nick's rs 500 is worth every penny of
£20000+
just my opinion
but i would say that as i have a prototype
and i would never sell mine

Hi Darren as I discussed I have changed my mind about even trying to sell her! she is ireplaceable and in really good condition! would be a shame for me to get rid of her! Thanks for helping me see the light again!!

Nick
i have had a few of these cars now,
including
build 8
build 56
build 489
allways liked the white cars, look very smart,
dont beleive the build number makes that much difference,
not in money terms,
if it did why was build no 1 sold for so litte?
the main points are the mileage and condition and owners ect,
bad points are any modds and these cars are so collectable that the top money goes for the low milage unmodded cars,
did not know greens could fuel for over 400 bhp?
as a low milage white car it will be 15k plus maybe up to 18k to the right buyer,
if you start geting into the 20k range the buyer will want unmodded and under 10k miles.

the car runs 8 greens!!
thats how it runs 400+
Normally I would agree with you martin but as these cars (1-4) were built by ford and not tickford as a prototype they are worth a few grand more! I see what you are saying about mileage and mods though!
the reason no 1 did not sell for a lot was that the car was not in good condition I have heard this from a number of people but I have myself not seen it!

there's one here for sale in new zealand, black,500hp full BBR engine and turbo the guy wants 60k for it, that is NZD not sure what that works out to be in GBP.
nicks 500 looks very neat and tidy and i would say its worth every penny i had lol i would love to own it.

This information you lot get is wrong.
Prototype number 1 arrived at Tickford from Ford, hand finished prototype, with no particular regard given to road car refinements or the niceties of packaging in the crowed engine bay. So step one was for Tickford to design & build its own prototypes, using manufacturing methods of assembly, for testing & development. It was the myriad small components that needed careful attention, cables, hoses, electrical connections, heat shielding & so on.
Three prototypes were built, by Tickford & the 1st being completed by early April 1986. Once on the road the testing process began & the the three cars went through 10,000 miles of durability running, including 6,200 miles each at 140mph to test high speed cooling among other factors + 1000 miles driven on pare roads, & prolonged idling testing, again for cooling.
So facts need to be put right.

All I am saying is what is fact
and just trying to give information to nick500
so that he is not misguided. 19 years have gone by, I am just trying to put the story straight. I am not having a go at anyone.
